Gili Islands are a group of three tiny islands and one of my favourite places in the whole of Bali! White beaches, bright blue seas and zero engines / pollution. You have to use your legs, a peddle bike or horse and cart to get around this island as its so small.
Obviously horse and cart instantly got ruled out as it was one of the most cruel things I had seen. The horses were practically just skin and bones carrying tourists and their luggage.
The boat across to Gili Trawangan (Gili T) was supposed to take 2 and a half hours, it ended up taking about 4 as the boat broke down half way and they took it back to the pier to add an extra engine. This was by far the worst boat id ever been on for sea sickness! Cree’s face sums up how we all felt…

We stayed in The Broken Compass Hostel which was less ‘party’ than some of the hostels on this island. Although it didn’t seem to stop us.

There was lots of funny signs around this island, some more relatable than others!

Everywhere you walked around the island had such beautiful views, like a tropical paradise.

The second night we decided to join the bar crawl on the strip of bars on the island. Gili T is known for being half of a party island! This night was messy but resulted in a swim for sunrise which was mesmerising and the start of a 3 day ‘holiday romance’. If there was ever going to be the place for one it would be this cute island.

Queue the only place I wore makeup on the whole of my travels..

Us girls decided to book a snorkelling day trip which is very popular here due to the crystal clear waters and the turtles. I know i refer to it as paradise but I’ve genuinely never seen clearer waters!

We got to see the underwater statutes and swam with the biggest turtles which was amazing! Although people weren’t pre-warned about touching the turtles which made it upsetting to see tourists grabbing them under their shells.

This island from start to finish was SO much fun! Laughs galore with the girls, live music, as usual too much alcohol and I even managed a cute candle lit seafront ‘date’.

I definitely have memories to last a life time… including the killer cockroach that flew out of my luggage hole and landed on me, I’ve never heard two girls scream so loud! Thankfully we were saved by reception.

I will without a doubt visit this island again!
